Portia Carr - CEO/OWNER, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Dr. Carr is the owner and CEO of Infinity Therapy, LLC which serves individuals from pediatrics to geriatrics throughout the state of Arkansas. She is an advocate for increasing access to speech therapy services. Portia Carr, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, graduated from Alabama A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2005. She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a Master of Science in 2007 and Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2021. Dr. Carr’s areas of expertise are aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive-communication disorders, and dysphagia. She is an assistant professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she teaches cognitive-communication and dysphagia courses. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA), is the ASHA- Arkansas State Advocate for Medicare Liaison, and member of the Arkansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

April Barnes - Director of clinical services, M.S., CCC-SLP

April Barnes, M.S., CCC-SLP graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2007. She specializes in articulation, phonological, oral motor, expressive language, and receptive language disorders with pre-school and school aged children. April is passionate about helping children and their families achieve optimal communication for social, emotional, and academic success. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA).
